We have developed this guide for those who would like to use their “natural gift” working on the telephone. This is not a training manual and this Orientation Guide assumes you have been providing readings for family and friends, or have worked professionally giving readings in person or over the internet. The purpose of this Guide is to help you transition to the same quality readings over the telephone. This Guide is only to be used as an aid in assisting you in the presentation of your own personal psychic/tarot telephone readings, and not for the purpose of assisting, suggesting, or influencing you in any way as to the contents of the actual readings themselves and is not to be construed as such. The sole purpose of this guide is to help you present your own readings over the telephone in the most effective way.

Job Description

This work is most rewarding when you enjoy it! Your job is to answer calls from people who have responded to advertisements in national magazines and other national media as well as through your own promotional efforts. They are responding to this advertising and are expecting you to be able to talk to them about their personal lives.

They pick up the phone to speak with you for a variety of reasons. The reasons will be familiar to you. Some want what they’ve seen in the advertising. Some are lonely and want someone to listen to them. Some are angry and want someone to agree with them. Most want some sort of counseling, advice and/or information about how to handle matters in their personal lives in a better way.

Approximately 80% of the calls deal with relationship issues. The balance of the calls deal with finance, health or other miscellaneous issues. Your goal is to determine what the caller is looking to get from you during the call, and then provide that service - reading tarot, counseling, just listening, whatever it is the caller is looking for you to provide. When you achieve this goal successfully, it is not only making the caller happy, but can be rewarding for you as well.

One further clarification. Since the majority of the calls center around personal relationship issues, the callers are referencing matters which can be of an intimate nature. As with any position involving counseling of any type, callers feel they can confide in you and that you will be trustworthy in handling the personal details of their lives. At times the language and content of these calls can be somewhat extreme. As your orientation evolves, you will learn how to handle such calls in a manner comfortable for you, or in the alternative, you will learn the proper procedure for getting off the phone with callers who cross legal lines.

Samples of Ways to Provide Service to the Callers

There are many ways to provide the services of a psychic reader. It is beneficial for you to understand the various types of readings you can give on the phone. Here are a few of the most popular are along with some simple explanations of what they're about in case you are unfamiliar:

Standard Psychic (also known as a Clairvoyant) Reading
By picking up vibrations in a caller's voice and tuning into the energy the caller emits (positive or negative), this type of reading reveals information about a caller's past, present, and/or future. Sometimes this is also accomplished by capturing a vision, or channeling other spirits, or contacting guides available to the psychic. The information obtained is always used in its positive form to assist the callers in making decisions and choices in their lives. This is the basic form of psychic ability most of us refer to as a "gift" and is used is varying degrees with all other types of readings for guidance in their interpretation and analysis.

Psychic Tarot Card Reading
Dating back to the 1300’s, the Tarot has demonstrated its power to tell truth about the past, the present, and the future. The incredible fascination with Tarot Card Readings is that each and every reading is unique. Startling insights into love, romance, and money can be discovered within seconds! Readings are done by using a deck of Tarot cards shuffled and laid out in what are known as "spreads". A deck of Tarot consists of 78 cards which have different traditional meanings when placed in different positions of the spreads, and again if they are placed upside down. Different methods of shuffling as well as different types of spreads are options the psychic Tarot card reader selects in order to provide the best reading for a caller.

Psychic Astrology
A psychic astrologer is a psychic individual who derives much of his or her knowledge of the past as well as the ability to predict the future from stars and planets. Each person in the world has a unique chart, formed from the exact date and minute of their birth. Through the careful analysis of the position of the stars and planets in an individual chart, a psychic astrologer is able to give a powerful psychic reading. Astrology has been around almost as long as recorded history; it is a powerful and accurate means of revealing the past and predicting the future. Either western, Vedic, or a combination of both can be used on the phones.

Psychic Numerology
A psychic numerologist, like a psychic astrologer, is a psychic individual who derives much of his or her knowledge of the past as well as the ability to predict the future from by external as well as internal means. In this case the external means is from numbers. Each person in the world has unique numbers, derived from their date of birth and their names exactly as they appear on their birth certificates. Unlike astrology, there is no need for an exact time of birth to get complex and detailed information, so it is somewhat easier to use than astrology in this sense. Through the careful analysis of an individual's numbers, psychic numerologists are also able to give a powerful psychic reading. Numerology has probably been around as long as numbers; it too is a powerful and accurate means of revealing the past and predicting the future.

Psychic Reader of The Runes
Someone who divines the past, present, future, or closely examines the inner self through use of stones called Runes. Different Runes are better suited for different aspects of the complex spectrum of the human condition. The Rune stones have been used since about the year 300 and are based on the 24 symbols of Futhark, the ancient Norse alphabet which was later used by the Anglo Saxons. In rune casting - in addition to these symbols, a blank stone is used, making a total of 25 Rune stones which have different traditional meanings when cast in different positions, and again if they are placed upside down. You will not be learning how to use the Runes in your class - this information is provided in case you are interested in pursuing this area on your own, or for you to be familiar with its concept in case a caller speaks to you about it.

Psychic I-Ching Reading
An I-Ching reader works within the general category of Stichomancy - which is someone who practices the art of seeking metaphysical insight into the world and people by reading a random passage from a book. The choice of book is an art form combined with innate psychic ability. There are two most popular books used, one being the "Book of Changes" or I-Ching and the other being the Bible. Since religious issues are usually avoided while working on the psychic phone lines in order to prevent conflict and/or to prevent offending anyone of different religious persuasion, the most popular form of Stichomancy used is the I-Ching. A typical reading starts by casting three coins or dividing "yarrow" sticks. Again, you will not be learning how to give I-Ching readings in your class - this information is provided in case you are interested in pursuing this area on your own, or for you to be familiar with its concept in case a caller speaks to you about it.

These are not the only types of psychic readings which can be given on the phone. There are many more - Vedic Astrology, Channeling, Dream Interpretation, etc. - and you are always free to use any one or more of your choosing. It is most important that you are comfortable with the type or types of readings you provide and the manner you present them because this naturally produces the best reading for the caller as well.

Safety first!

While you are working on the phones, you will be speaking with people living in your neighborhood and all around the United States and Canada. They are not aware of your exact address, and they should NEVER be informed!

Unfortunately there are a lot of dangerous people roaming about in today’s world and you need to take some simple steps to make sure you are properly protected.

Use a phone name which is not your real name. Keep the same phone name at all times so you can “build a reputation” for your work. Use this phone name on all your own promotional materials and don’t put your phone number or your address on any of these materials either, just the 800 number and your extension.

Don’t disclose any information over the phone which would lead someone to your exact location or your exact identity - NO MATTER WHAT they say to you, or how bonded you feel with them. Better to make a mistake on the side of caution as your psychic “nose” may not always be tuned in.

These are simple rules and will bring you a lot of peace of mind so you can do your work without having to spend time wondering how to protect yourself when you get a caller who lives on the negative side of life.
